Has anybody tried this? Ive been playing around with an EM I got from a pawn shop and wanna try portraits with flash. Not sure how I would go about it with the EM being an auto camera. Any advice?

PS-using Alien Bee 400, Neewer tt560 speedlights, and Cowboystudio triggers.

It has a hotshoe, so just put a sending unit in the hotshoe. The receiver will fire any of your flashes, and if the others have an optical slave function, the other ones will fire also.

Just like you would with any other camera. All you're going to do is use the centre pin of the hot shoe to fire your trigger transmitter and send the signal to the receiving units and thence trip the remote flashes. Your gear should work just fine for this.

Set the shutter speed control to M90 on the top deck, right hand side. That is the speed to be used for electronic flash synchronization. Do not worry too much about the flash synch speed...1/90 second will work reasonably well indoors in almost any conditions. If you have a flash synch cord, you would want to get a hotshoe to PC outlet adapter to plug the cord into. Nikon makes one called the AS-15. Flashzebra.com also sells generic ones for about half the price. The other option would be to trigger the flash or flashes using a remote sending unit (transmitter) and receiver--aka flash triggers.
