Oh Happy Day!

I'm FINALLY getting my computer back.

I just got a call that it should be ready monday! It's been almost 3 months now since it died. I'll now be able to scan my pictures again as well as download the pictures from the wife's digital! I've been using the office computer which really only has internet access but nothing else. I've got lots of slides and prints I want to work on! I'll be able to use Photoshop (or at least start learning it again!). I'll also have much more memory to work with now.

What happened that took 3 months to fix?

It was a series of things. First off the power supply shorted out and litteraly welded itself to the mother board. Then it turned out that the tape drive was screwed up, then the A: drive wouldn't work right. Lots of software problems and then the modem wouldn't connect......

We'd get one thing working and then find out something else was messed up! I've had a good friend working on it so it's been on his time table. If I had it in a shop I guess it would have been faster but also much more expensive to fix.
