Alright, I couldn't figure out which is better: The sign in focus and the building out of focus or vice versa so here's both. Which do you think? This is the first teaching college in Texas located at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. It's been converted into a museum now of course.

the first one is my choice ... it lets you read on .. with the "mystery" house in the background :)

That's what I was thinking. Plus I was "tegillent" and got the light post in the in focus building shot.

depends...what do you want the viewer to experience?

for me, the building is.... a building; w/out the text it is nothing, really.

so the first one.

hi fallingleaves,
i agree with the others in saying that it would be the first one, though i think you should probably get the same 'texas' symbol in the first photo which you got in second one.

cheers!

Each tells a slightly different story. Of course with the sign so prominent in the composition, it makes the viewer want to read it. I think a variation of #2, with less of the sign and more of the building.
