Okayyyy weird settings on my D40x.

Alright awhile back I was curious how to change the settings to remote = open shutter and hitting it again would close the shutter. Now I tried taking some self portraits and it's still on this setting. So I have to hit the remote twice fast to open and close it. How do I change it back to just hitting it once to open and close the shutter. Don't say user manual I checked.

Are you sure you aren't in Bulb mode?

Is it set to bulb, 1 press for open shutter and second to close ?

When I want to use the hit once to open hit twice to close it's in BULB.

of course it is. Change your shutter speed setting or put it in another mode.

Okay so take it off BULB, then it should open and close with one hit of the remote?
