Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Well Kelly and Lacey. I ahve picked on you- here is your chance to get back. These were taken in 1976 and are my son, Acott, father of my grandchild Will who I aome times stick up on here. These were with my Minolta 201, a Ricor 135 1.2 lens and Figicolor film 100 ASA I think.
Cut me too the quick if you want.

I am finding that my old color prints are not holding the color as well as I had hoped.

I like them! I also like the color cast. It would be easily corrected in PS though, if you prefer a more naturalistic one.

Edit: I couldn't prevent myself from trying out a few adjustments, hope you don't mind:

thanks these are about 30 years old. I do not know anything about pp on scans of old film prints. or if at this late date it is worth it.. I mostly wanted you all to knowthat I did take pictures in the dim past before you were even born. Silver, I never mind some one trying to make my work better and I like the clean up you did. I, for some reason can not find my negatives from thisera and Ithink they would have better color retention. I an working from badly strored prints.

On top of that you are suffering from scanner slaughter (or so it would appear) Windex that glass down and dry it with a good cloth. You should have better (though still a little desaturated) results from the print scans.

Thanks for the hint.

I had the same problems back before I got my neg scanner...I got very sick of trying to clone them out....and that was just the ones I could clone out.

Now that I have my neg scanner...if I tried scanning a print, it'd prolly turnout the same way, because I don't think about that stuff untill I see it....;)

I'll upload a few of the print scans I did reasently so you can see the difference it cam make.

These are from a set I was asked to scan for someone, so I should be said I was not responsable for taking the shots. They are my Brother in Law, some of these are close to fifty years old, and recieved less than loving care. You can still see the tape on some of them. I nearly destroyed one attempting to remove it, so I left it. I scanned them all with a cheap HP all in one flatbed bought at wall-mart so it's not like I am using top of the line scanning glass on these. The last two where scanned with another picture so they have a tighter crop than the others but are just about the full frame.

Arn't old pictures a blast? I hope that we are able to see the digital pictures in fifty years- with the changes in technology and computers. Think of all the information only ten years old that can't be retreived because it is stored on floppy disks.

My color photos from the late 70's deteriorated even worse. Interestingly, photos from the early 80's on held up pretty good. It seemed paper technology improved overnight.

Beautiful old images the first is wonderful! :)
