I have a few of these shot originally in color and found this one would look great in b+w.....maybe i'll do a few more

It's a GM Detroit Diesel 6-cyl. Found it in the middle of a field in Mt. Dora, FL.

This just isn't doing it for me. I keep looking at the dark out-of-focus object in the bottom center and at the closer part of the circular frame, which is not sharp. Since these in themselves are relatively minor flaws, I'm looking at them most likely because there isn't much to hold my interest in the dial face, the only well-defined subject. Might have worked better moving a little to the right so you could see more of the face and perhaps pick up something else on the right to make the composition more interesting.

Nice job with DOF here. Though I would have to agree with KenC that the bottom black thing is a bit distracting.

I actually don't have much complaint in this one. My attention stays at the dials and not towards the bottom. I like the capture though.
