Very interesting pictures. The second one is my favorite and I can just picture that shot in a commercial with an elderly man or woman sitting just to the right of the door.

The color shadows and lighting are excellent in the second one as well. However to me the first one could use some more DOF.

Great subject and photos! It may be hard not seeing the whole building in the first photo, but you are on to something in the second. Is the your first attempt at the barn? If at all possible, plan on going back. Maybe during the magic hour. Maybe infra red? Maybe colour? Maybe bring a level for your camera? The possibilities are end less.
