Old picture photoshop help

Hi guys,

does anyone knows how to fix this image with photoshop? i am trying to remove this white "dust" or "layer" (whatever u call it...) you can see on this picture.

any clues?

Though he can work on a copy, that's the destructive way to do it. Try this instead:

1. New empty transparent layer above the photo layer.
2. Set new layer to Overlay Blend Mode.
3. Paint on new overlay blend layer with white to lighten, black to darken, using light opacity on the brush, say 10%.

Real easy to work it out that way as you go, and doesn't touch the actual photo layer at all.

With Bucksters method you might also want to set 'Protect tones' in the dodge/burn tool options bar.
