Agree. Normally it's the bright spots that draw the eye. Mine goes to the large shadow right in the middle.

Don't get me wrong, love the photo! But would like to see what it looks like without such a harsh shadow. Perhaps a local edit could help? The rest of it looks great.

I would need to go back with a flash, which I may do - though I'd be lucky to get the puffy clouds again.
To be honest, there isn't much there. Even +4 in ACR showed little.

Maybe you could do a sort of composite? Combine the clouds from this with the subject of the shot w flash?

Just an idea. Either way, I do love the photo. Very nostalgic for me personally
