old school meets new school.

i have a nikon d40. i was wondering if old nikon lenses and third party lenses would fit the d40, i know i would have to manually focus it myself but im down with that. i tried a vivitar lens earlier today and it fit perfectly but the camera said that the lens wasnt attached.

Pretty much match up the lens type to d40

A lot of them work but have things they can't do right.

and if you have any [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1]"[/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1]F3AF"[/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1] lenses.. then I guess they won't work.
