Olympus 550?

I am considering buying this camera new. It sells for $349.99 in my area. I know little about digital cameras being an old 35mm guy. Any opinions on the camera? I notice it has a threaded ring on the lens. Does this mean lens filters can be used? All replys appreciated.

It will most likely be at least serviceable, it might make you a fine camera.

I would want to get some time in on it before buying though. You might try a time that the store isn't busy.
