Olympus O-Product problem…..

I’ve been after one of these for a while, and finally have it in my possession, absolutely mint condition…..bought film, put new batteries in (the compartment was clean, no old batteries and no sign of corrosion) and put the film in. It wound, the red light on the flash blinked……nothing. Opened the lens, and I’ve depressed the shutter button…..nothing. No red light on main body, Nothing in the view finder either. The instruction manual is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot….am I doing anything wrong?

For starters, it's 30+ years old. You've no clue if it worked earlier. I've bought pristine, high-end light meters from that time that were DOA. Despite looking pretty, their innards showed moisture damage to pc boards--buggered and irreparable. Oly only made like 20,000 of these. Pretty design exercise. Trusting it's not destined for a shelf. Any chance of a refund?
Can only suggest a tiny dab of isopropyl on external switches/buttons. Work them and let dry. It's occasionally worked for me on unconscious patients. Best of luck.
