Olympus om-2

I was recently given a Canon ae-1 and an Olympus om-2. The canon works wonderfully and I actually have a roll of film in currently. Unfortunately the Olympus is another story, the mirror inside is pulled up by the spring and is unable to be held down. So I am unable to see out of the view finder. Does anybody know how the mirror is supposed to be held down, or what can be done to be able to see out of the viewfinder at all??

I think you have a dead battery. Try replacing it and see if the mirror comes down.

Just replaced the batteries with fresh from the pack 357's, to no avail haha. Mirror still does not come down even after I have three the know to turn it on
