The Journey Begins

Friends aren't having much luck reviving beater MF cameras, especially affordable TLRs. Scratch+dent issues aside, erratic/off shutters, pesky light leaks, weird frame spacing, taking lens crud seem common ailments. Problem is, the sometimes newer ILC system cameras are rarely newer than the '90s and many had long working lives that require now -to-find repairs. Shop carefully and have reasonable expectations of results.

Sounds like you gatta working MF film camera there.
The Yashinon lens is not bad ... a step up would be a Rikenon (Ricoh Diacord) or Rokkor (Minolta Autocord).
You should be able to get a handy light meter app on your phone ... a classic Weston or Sekonic would match nicely with the Yashica.
Appears I do! I was using an app on the phone, but think I'll have better luck with the L308. Maybe I can find a working analog model?

@cgw I bought this one cheap ftom an estate sale. I figured the challenge would be interesting and if it didn't work...then I wasn't out much. Took a lot of reading, research, cleaning, adjusting, but one by one I fixed the problems, and "surprise" it works.....at least everything but the light meter.
