Well, I have not done that many wedding but I just hope it wont get any worse than this. I do not have the pics yet because I gave all my cards to the 1st photog. I will get it back in a few days. Here is a shot by another photographer:

Basically the reception was on the right. Do you see the trellises? The wedding was at 530 pm. Dappled sun everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! To make the matter worse, the ceiling is dark brown. When I overpower the dappled sun it looked like crap because the shadow landed on people because I cant bounce it anywhere. Here is another close up of the venue that someone took with a faux tilt shift lol.

I just hope the main shooter got good photos because I sure as hell was struggling. Blehhhhh!!!! I did my best though. I hate it when I cant see my photos right away. Maybe ill drive to his house tomorrow and grab it.

That is a nice feature of the D7000, dual SD cards. You can mirror each card and give the duplicated SDs to the primary photog, while you keep a set too. ;)

SD card.. no thanks :). He only lives 30 min away but usually when I do weddings I dowload all the pics before I go to bed. If I dont, I cant sleep thinking about it. hahaha.

To add the level of the difficulties, there were 2 videographers too.

Sounds like you may have benefited from some remote flashes in the reception hall.

Shoot well, Joe

I did that, still not very good. It was very tight. Barely any place to walk trough between tables. You will see shadows from the flash on other people with off camera flash.

Here is the condition. The paper lanterns make it harder too on the top of dark ceiling and non white walls. Also, do you notice how there is barely any place to walk between tables? Hopefully it will never be harder than this.

Ugh I had a venue similar to that for my first wedding, it was hell, my meter was all over the place, I just had to guess at the settings and go from there. There were windows at the top of the roof (about 50ft, so no bounce flash) that had sun streaming through them and the rest of the place was dark as night.. Good for my first wedding though!

Hopefully your pictures turned out okay, which I'm sure they did :) Did you get to got there before hand or were you thrown right in?
