The one burst on the left was a tad closer to me while the one on the right was likely over the Gulf of Mexico, about 30 miles SW of me...and it was drizzling and lots of smoke from localized fireworks...but starting to get the hang of the MIOPS trigger. Finally had to quit as the rain got harder and the skeeters were having a feast.

The MIOPS trigger works on bursts of light or sound. I set mine last night at 89% sensitivity because the lightning was quite a way off. My camera was set to pre-focusing at infinity, manual focus. The settings were f/8, ISO 400, Aperture Priority. I am shooting a Nikon D850. I allow the triggered shot to go until the MIOPS determination the activity has finished...On a close encounter, it will trigger and stop, then retrigger with each successive burst...further away, the trigger runs a bit longer. I am triggering with my Cell Phone AP. This is just my second time using the trigger so am quite optimistic I will get better shots down the pike.

Good stuff. Rewarding result with the technology.

Love that image, nice that you captured it over water like you did. Good job!
