I uploaded from my phone hopefully it didn't degrade the quality.

Grungy look to a grungy neighborhood. But its hard to comment on the HDR when what you have is mostly midtones.

I new to this, but what do you mean only mid tones

The image doesn't have the dynamic range to require HDR. You could have captured the range in a single frame.

There are no whites or sources of light and no real dark shadow areas. Most of the image is in between the dark and light which is the area that an HDR image is supposed to address.

Hmm guess I need more research. I took 3 photos at varied exposures and used photomatix and followed the directions I've read. Other then not being an actual hdr what are the opinions on the image?

Could you post the properly exposed single shot for comparison? The image above looks fuzzy/OOF. Like the processing degraded the quality.

I like where you're headed with this. If it were my image, I would do some straightening, and perspective correction.

I love the yellow hydrant as a break from all the red brick. To a lessor extent, the blue of the galvanized steel doorway. You could probably lose the utility pole and nobody would complain.

I don't have a single shot its 3 merged. I when i'm home from work ill post and maybe someone can show me what I did wrong.
I think it's oof because of the way I uploaded.
