Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok SUPER noob here ;) just purchased my first dslr (nikon d60) with the kit lens, wide angle, and zoom. I really like this camera and I got a good deal on the body and glass together ( a friend of mine had used it all once on a trip to alaska and had lost interest after that, so I got it for a steal). Anyway, I was wondering, do any of you pros or even really talented casual photographers know of a good website or book that kind of reads like a photography class? Id love to take a class but honestly with three kids a husband and full time job, it's not possible. I bought the camera really for portraits of my kids and family more than anything else so I'm looking for some input on those type of photos in particular. I'd post some of what I've already taken but quite honestly after lurking around the site a few days, I'm afraid of the criticism just yet! Lol. Sorry for the insanely long first post but I have tons of questions for people that really know their stuff.

Check out "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. You have to have the fundamentals down before you can think about portrait work, or any more advanced shooting. This book will give you a good understanding of the fundamentals, and it's geared to people at your skill/knowledge level. Nice user name, btw...
