Optical Stabilazation saved me

I am just back from a vacation in Ecuador and the Galapagos. I purchased a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM as an upgrade to my 18-55 Canon kit. I wasn't expecting the OS to be used much, as I would be shooting mostly outdoor and on the wide side. I got it mostly for the extra 20mm, better aperture and macro.

Well wouldn't you know it, 2 days prior to my trip I injured my rotator-cuff in my right shoulder. For the first 3 days of my trip I couldn't lift my right arm. I had to shoot using only my left hand. Quite awkward (too bad I didn't have a picture of that). I did notice that some pics had sharpness issues, but still acceptable. Without my OS all my pics would have been blurry. Unfortunately I didn't take as many pics as I thought I would, and I think that the general quality of my pics suffered because of my injury (or at least that is my excuse).

I did have a good time though, so all is OK.
