Optimal size of pics for this site? Q & A

Well nobody replied with site recommendations. (Or did I miss it? tell me where?)
Various people came up with their own 'personal' ideas, some of which were a bit strange.
I didn't take my own post 'off the rails' at all. the whole thing has made it clear that few people have much idea at all about the subject. I ask you to re-read the question and the responses, some of which merely demonstrated a misunderstanding of the subject.
It's really quite simple once you understand the simple fact that we are supplying images that will display well on many output devices (computer screens etc) and ideally should be economical in terms of digital 'overhead' or disk space.

Maybe try some incremental testing. 6016 x 4016 @ 300 (2.6 MB) is fine.

Uploading seems to compress the disk size. This is 6.10 MB on the phone, but uploading compressed it down to 3.1 MB. Previous image wqas compressed from 2.6 MB to 2.3 MB.

Q? I've been looking for 'site recommendations' regarding the preferred image size for photos on 'our' site.
Well nobody replied with site recommendations

You asked for "recommendations" in the open forum from site members, you got that in post 4, 5, 6, 10, & 15. Whether you agree with those recommendations is your prerogative, but its frowned on to criticize, belittle, or lecture respondents for their recommendations. If you need more specific information on site operation, than you're seeing in the answers, then you should PM site Admins.

Ouch what a waste of Data! (Sigh...)
The reason I put the question in the first place is that I couldn't find a link to Admins.
I had no intention whatever to 'belittle' anybody. I have merely explained something that several people don't seem to 'get'.
Some replies seemed to question the facts that I was explaining but I've yet to see any reply that addressed the issue with understanding.
Actually some people seem to need a 'lecture". I give up. Please just check out the Adobe link explaining it.

OK, so this doesn't seem to be going anywhere. OP has been given suggestions and even a recommendation to further experiment with sizes.

Locking it.
