Photos NOT OK to edit
The first nice weekend this year, the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the walks around the tidal basin in Washington are filled with throngs of people - and this lady was oblivious to any danger for her camera. One jostle of the tripod and in the drink it goes.

I hereby revoke any priveledge she has to taking photos and confiscate her camera. It will be sold and the money put into the "Buy Dave a D610" fund for the greater good.

I was there this past weekend and saw lots of sketchy camera setups. One guy had a Nikon with a particularly large lens hanging over the wall with nothing but a monopod. If the foot slipped on the concrete it would have flipped right over and into the water with that massive lens weighing it down.

That's the kind of stupid thing my husband would do - right to the very edge and then curse life, not himself, when the camera is lost.

I don't understand some people. We passed someone with two large bodies and lenses, extra lens cases, a backpack, a tripod and a flash. It's flowers people, flowers, just flowers.

Oh my. My palms are sweating just looking at that image, and maybe next time she will leave her pajamas at home.

I'm with you Kathy, that makes me so nervous looking at it, camera straps hanging off the table give me the same feeling (that one might be more cat related but still). :pale:

I've done that, but I had myself GLUED to the camera in a way that made it... mostly safe.
