Went to Blue Cypress Lake a couple of times last week with a Guy who is doing research and documentary work on Ospreys. He flew in from Houston and we rented a Jon boat which aloud us super close shots of the 200 documented Osprey Nests located in all the Cypress Tree's. All the young Ospreys were Fledging which made for some cool shots.
1. Adult Female coming in
2. Another Female with a little twist dance going on......
3. Juvi Osprey...we watched this guy for 30 minutes before he finally launched for the first time. This was his first landing.
4 Another nest....3 youngsters in this one
5 Yet another nest...This pair is a bit younger than the ones above.
6 That Juvi kept coming back to the same stick!
7 To many nest to keep count.....this was a lone chick in this nest.
8 Practicing landings in front of Mom!!
9 First Osprey we spotted at sunrise....crack looking eyes!
