Dark in some spots, bright in others, but I like it anyway!

Quick question, are you really into mustangs or what gives?

I like how the sun passes through and glows on the left side. I am not really crazy about the angle I always like to see the roof of the car from rear shots.

lol, you know what? I've been going to these cruises and the majority of cars I see there are Mustangs. All kinds. I'm heading to an exotic car show on Sunday so I should come back with some really cool shots of Lambos, Ferraris, etc...

I thought about what you said with shots with the sun in them being too white. I think I made it yellow enough. Yeah? I warmed it up a bit in Photomatix and then added a bit more yellow in CS5.

Thanks,
Danny

I think this is one of my least favorites so far.

The halo is very pronounced,
The angle is not doing it for me
You can't see the roof
It's centered with cars on either side
The power lines go right across the trunk of the car
That's a hideous wing (not really your control)

I've been processing for more of the realistic look lately and not so much this grungy look. I decided to have fun with this shot and try it a little different.

I do see the halo now. definitely will fix it.
I just wanted to get the back of the car, which I like, so I wanted to include the tires in the shot. Somebody on here mentioned something about one of my other shots of the back of a car where I didn't include the tires, that the car appeared to be floating. That comment stuck with me so I considered it when I set up the shot.
It's tough to get a shot at one of these events without any peripherals in the shot. I thought of cloning out the power lines, but decided not to. Maybe I'll try it later.
I like the wing!

Thanks,
Danny

Hmmmmmm... Yeah, I'm not feelin' it.

I guess if what you wanted was the entire ass-end of the car, well, mission accomplished. It's just not something I look at and feel that "Oooohhh" factor.

If I may opine, I feel you've done far better work than this one...

What lens are you using for these shots?

The best way to get tires in and roof line is to get back a further distance and then zoom in. IF you are using a wide angle lens it makes it kind of hard to do this. So my suggestion is place yourself further back more. Once you can see some tire and roof line your good. The other thing is when your tripod is set up rather than pointing your camera up have it even or slightly tilted lower which will help bring in that roof line and still get those tires.

Shooting cars is not easy. I use to shoot cars for my friends and car clubs years back and I learned a lot about shooting vehicles and getting the best out of the shoot. Once you do it for a bit you learn more and more.

Another suggestion is not always going for the low shot. Sometimes getting the birds eye view at a front angle makes for a real nice photo. I see that most of your shots are from low except that rat rod you did a bit back.

Good luck!!
