Rest area in Maryland on I-68 that I have wanted to stop at for years and finally did. I have always found the rock interesting here in the cut out. C&C Please.

Huh...that is DEFF some weird rock on that left side!!! I like the road's curve as a counterpoint...I looked at it with some of the right hand side land mass creopped off...looks like that has some potential too.

Is that rock scarring man-made? It is most unusual. I can see why you stopped. Well worth a few shots.

Interesting, I might like to see a little less foreground since that seems less interesting to me. I'd think about the contrast, seems like there could be more white in those clouds but I'd want to keep the black in the shadows in the rock - great subject.

Darrel, that is actually not man made scarring. That is the different layers of rock that were distorted by glaciers many years ago. I grew up in the Maryland area and this type of distortion is fairly common in the Appalachian Mountains. I will play with some crops with the rock on the right taken out. I have a few shots from different angles as well. Thank you for your comments. I drive through this area to see family fairly often so I can always reshoot.

Thank you for your comments. I am going to work on some different crops and post them up later when I can edit. I will also work on the contrast in the sky with some local adjustments. I already did some work to the sky so it is already masked out.

Ok so took the advice of the comments. I found a different image with less rock on the right and edited it to increase some contrast on both the rock and the whites in the sky. I am worried about some haloing around the top of the rock. Am I over analyzing? Thoughts on this edit? Did I lose the blacks in the rock?
