I just started planning my next overnight photography trip, and I got to wondering how often anyone else gets out for longer trips for photography purposes. Be it for landscape, cityscape, or weddings/events that aren't exactly close to home (or that are, but still require an overnighter).

I've found that I probably take around 10-15 short overnight trips a year, and maybe 2-3 several day excursions for my landscapes.

So how often would you say you let your hobby pull you out for a night or more?

I do them whenever I get a chance. More often it's just a day trip. Well, whenever the job allows it.

Mostly same-day trips for me, and ends up being a loooooong day.

That said, I took off Saturday night last at 7:30 and got home Sunday around 8:00.

Day trips, but the wife and I hit the coast a few times a year for an overnighter. It's nice, because you don't feel rushed, and there's nothing like sitting on a balcony overlooking the beach and editing photos!

Gotta love those long day trips too :) I try to get out a couple times a month for at least a day trip, especially since it seems like my longer trips are getting few and far between.

Well, night photography is addictive. I am not out there in the night very often, a few times a year, but when I do get the chance, I milk the hell out of it.

Does your pp include using a butter churn?
