One of my favorite warbirds! I bet those big Allisons sounded sweet, too! Too bad you didn't use a shutter speed that would have blurred the props.. they do look better that way! Where did you see this one at? (not an RC model, is it?) :)
 
One thing about the "frozen props" is that you can clearly see the pitch of the blades, and how they turn opposite of each other.

This was at the 2011 Capitol Air Show in Sacramento. There were four P-38's, including Glacier Girl.

You'll love this then. There was six scheduled to be at the airshow. One developed a cylinder head problem on the way and couldn't make it, and one in Oregon demanded too much money. I know expenses need to be met, but if I had a '38, and could have flown in a mass formation of ALL the flyable Lightnings in the US?
