P&S < $150 - Christmas gift

My wife would like a basic but decent P&S camera to carry around in her purse for the spur of the moment shot. We have a nice DSLR as well as SLR system, couple thousand $ in lenses, but she doesn't like to lug that around. I'm also entertaining the idea of getting a canon g12 in the future for myself for the same reasons. What's your recommendation for a decent, easy to use, but decent IQ P&S camera?

Momento, I appreciate the suggestion, however the canon s100 is $429 which is > $150 by a considerable amount. Any other suggestions?

i have a S95 and have seen them on craigs list for $275...

it's worth every penny.

you get what you pay for.

How about a note pad and a high quality pencil...;-). Just kidding. Look on DPreview or CNET for advice.
