I haven't posted any pictures in a whole so I figured I would share a couple of my shots from this weekend.

I shot these with my canon 7D and my canon 70-200 f/4 L lens.

As a former semi-pro...years and years ago I always perfered my pictures from the front as if I were shooting in your direction. However, I know that most fields are not accomodating to be able to shoot that angle. Again to play devil's advocate if you aren't able to shoot from the front then I would definitely try to get some of the opponent within the frame. Just my feedback as a former baller.

I agree with you as a player. It was my first time out shooting in a long time. Usually I am playing posing for the camera. Def need to get more shots from the front and with the opponents in it. Also try and get some pictures of people getting shot up so you can see the paint breaking.

The field I play at isn't bad as far as side lines for shooting. Usually there are a couple photographers their shooting practices. Soon I'm hoping to start doin some events.

Were you shooting all these from the sidelines? if so i'd ask to get into the game, put yourself in the middle of the action.

You can only shoot from the sideline. I can't go onto the actual playing field. There are some rules to shooting paintball. Unless its scenario.

I just have to move up and down the sideline to get different angles to shoot

Also it is a one way ticket to jack-up one's equipment. Paintball splatter tends to get everywhere and really thick and hard to clean. Not to mention bounce shots and all the mud. Yeahhhhhhh, not me.

Yeah splatter definitely gets on the gear quick and is a pain to get clean.

I don't want to have to buy new equipment that often

Hahaha I'm not worried about my 7D. I have a rubber case for it if I want to protect it but as long as I have something over the the lens to camera ring I'm ok.

Where I play you ref the game before you play so I take pictures then and put an old jersey over my camera and lens and leave it behind the start gate while I play so it doesn't get more paint on it.

Go take some pics and share it. It's a lot of fun.

Awesome, I will also keep an eye out. Plus this presents good opportunity to work on panning.

weird, have you talked to the field owners? ive been to and seen numerous times photographers on the field during games. and you can easily get covers to protect your gear.

The teams complain you are in the way and giving away their position on the field. So you can't really go on to the actual playing field to take pictures.
