Bit of a stupid question but just wondering do you shoot each image in landscape or portrait or doesn't it matter?

For better panorama's it is best to shoot portrait. It takes more shots but when stitched together there is less distortion.

I use a program called Auotstitch myself. Its free and can be found here: http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html
