Let me ask you a very stupid question, please.
It's not about the subject you photographed, which is just funny, and well done DOF-wise, but about that new lens you're mentioning.
Is it the 1.8 (which I assume is the light intensity - hope that is a word in the English language?) that helps you create a shallow DOF with a "normal" focus length, when I would have to step quite far away from this box and extend my zoom to maybe 200mm in order to achieve the same effect?
