Pen and tablet for photoshop

What do you guys use for photoshop editing, Mouse, Pen and tablet???

Please let me know.....there has to be something better than a mosue....after about 30-45 minutes i feel like my hand has arthritis.

I have the bamboo pen and touch. It works 100x better then a mouse.

I've been looking at tablets for some time and get confused as to which one is right for photo editing?

I use the mouse but I also have the wacom 12x12 intous II tablet that I use for heavy graphic design work. One benefit to a tablet is that they have pressure sensitivity, something you can not achieve with a mouse. So in many cases it gives way more control when drawing and touching up.

If you get one make sure it has the pressure sensitivity.

For photography, I don't bother using my tablet. If I'm just dodging and burning and touching up little things in a photo I'm good with a mouse. I only use my tablet for digital painting and concept art. But I have an old Grapphire 4 (?). I don't use it all that often.

I wasn't sure if I would use a tablet much or not but I wanted to try it out so I got this cheap monoprice one: For only $44.80 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 10X6.25 Inches Graphic Drawing Tablet | Graphics Tablets

It works great! It's pretty big and has the pressure sensitivity. I would recommend it for someone who isn't sure if they would like a tablet or not. If you decide you like it, then you can splurge on the wacom.

You need it to be pressure sensitive. Otherwise it is just a glorified laptop touchpad.

I use both mouse and pen/tablet. I like the mouse for the 'general' type stuff, and while in Lightroom. I use the pen/tablet for when actually working on the photo in Photoshop.

Intuos4 Medium. I had a Bamboo Fun for 2 years and didn't really like it. Upgraded to the Intuos4. HolyMoley what a difference.

I got a Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet and pen for Christmas, and I love it! Still learning how to "drive" it correctly, with the pressure sensitivity and such, but it is MUCH better, imo, than trying to do detail work with a mouse. It's the best thing that's happened to my PS skills in a while.
