the pentax 18-55 isn't that bad. Out of the other 18-55 kit lenses, it's defiantly the best. At least it has focus scales.

Just got a k10d for that price, and the pentax 18 - 55 is actually quite good, and not THAT bad, it has a usable focusing ring, metal mount and a good lens hood

And the newer version of the 18-55 is better then the first version, they upgraded the resolution to work with the K20D. I have seen a few comparison shots of the two, and the new version is noticeably better.

pentax is an engineering company. yay pentax! simple solution to the 18-55 blues. buy an 18-250!!! much more fun.
