To the OP, you have to realize that 99% of folks on here are socially retarded basement dwellers, this is the only place they can give people crap so it comes out ten fold. While there are some very helpful posters, they are far outnumbered by idiots which makes this place pretty much useless as most quickly figure out. As for "Scoody" if thats you in the avatar, skip giving up photgraphy and go ahead and give up life. Back to the OP, once you realize the type of people who are giving you crap you usually end up laughing. Remember those guys in High School who had no friends, couldnt get laid and were constantly ridiculed. There on here and now its their turn. :) Nobody on here is a pro despite what their signature says, just the typical online forum full of loud mouths and BS. Not everyone eats, sleeps and breathes photgraphy. Some of us have lives, jobs, famlies and much better things to spend our days doing than hanging out on a forum 24/7 giving people half a world away crap on their photos without offering any real insight on how to better their shots.

Everyone on any forum is a pro, hence why most forums end up being full of post whores and offer no general knowledge to anyone other than regular posters with post counts over 20k. This is afterall photography which is nothing more than a hobby. Being the best photographer on the forum is sort of like winning the tallest leprechaun contest.

Don't let it hit ya where the good lord split ya...

To the OP... once you read through s10lowrider's excellent response, you should know that most on this forum are a bunch of old, lonely, miserable and sexually frustrated men that probably failed in their photography business. They DO give good advice, but because of the adjectives I've given above they don't know how to act CIVIL in their responses... probably because of their lack of social skills. So if and when they do give advice just try to filter out their negativity and sarcastic remarks because when it comes to photography some DO know what they are talking about. Just try to look past their smug and self-righteous behavior. I know its hard getting critiqued by assholes, but honestly you will kind of feel sorry for them once you put some logic to their behavior. It's like they are in some kind of contest on "who can say the funniest/wittiest response. But little do they know the "prize" is being the "tallest leprachaun"...lol. Because at the end of the day after they get their "fix" of making people look bad, they go back to their miserable lives when they finally decide to sign off.

That is HILARIOUS coming from you....
I only come here to learn. Ask yourself...why are you here? Especially in the beginners forum?

I post forum wide.

Admit it though. You love the drama. You add to it every chance you get.

leprechauns=sweet! And if was the tallest i would SO kick the little ones in the head.....
Anyway, A.D.D. is attacking again. Everyone here is old enough to be considered an adult. So, after sitting back and reading all the comments about, 'Oh, people on here are such rear ends', yada, yada, They all sit in their parents basement and stay on the site 24-7, just so they can get a hit in, blah, blah. Why does it matter where people are socially anyway? If they're hermits, or social butterflies, this forum is about PHOTOGRAPHY, and any forum that you read about the arts, there are going to be people there that have something to say! Whether they do it in a nice way or not, it's usually the way it is received, that starts these long threads.
Just my 2 cents, LET IT GO, take note of what the people have to say. If you've taken a crappy picture, it's a crappy picture! It happens! Even the best photographers have a few throw aways. Put your man panties on and try it again...

*I* add to it? Maybe you see it that way because I am actually defending another against you and your army of trolls. I'm sorry... i'm not the type of person to sit back and be silent (OR join in, laugh and point fingers) if someone is getting ridiculed or someone wants to purposely embarrass them. Forum or not. You might not know or CARE... but there is an actual person behind the screenname and in front of their computer with real feelings. Treat those how you want to be treated. "Where's the fun in that?" you probably would say. Well that just says a certain someone isn't really the one with "issues". Take a look in the mirror.

I am telling you this, but its not directed specifically only at you...

It's human nature to want to defend the innocent, but sometimes it's better to let them live and learn...

Ah. I see. It's OK for you to insult people and call them names when you are playing a Super Hero. Neat!

BTW, i treat people how i want to be treated. If only they would act the way i would in situations it would be different. If you look back on my posts you would see that i don't 'troll' threads, and make mean comments. This was just the ONE that i finally decided to comment on. I try to give 'life lesson advice' when i see neccesary, and sometimes i will make a comment on a thread i actually know something about. I'm here for C&C and advice, just like everyone else. I don't break the popcorn out and laugh at the shots that people take at each other on here. I'm not in any way trying to create enemies, or have a 'forum stalker', but it just doesn't make any since to generalize about people being low-life's because they offer advice on a photography forum in a way you deam nasty, and mean. Bitter Jeweler has offered up TONSSSSSS of advice to me, and i'm SOO thankful to him for that, as i'm sure he has to you, too! Take notice of who you're saying these things about, and how they've furthered your experience, and helped with your photography business. Kicking your own self in the head, and loosing friends on a forum that can help you out whenever you need it isn't a very smart thing to do, just because you wanted to defend someone that stopped posting pages ago...

An S10 Lowrider? Seriously? How quaint! I would definately give up on life if I was a walking...er...lowriding stereotype like you. If I gave up on life this very minute, your own miles per gallon life would never catch up.

I've said that they have been very helpful! After learning how to filter out all the sarcastic remarks I have grown a lot. Bitter has offered tons of advice but more often than not I get little pointless jabs from him and many others on here. But hey... I try to ignore it.
You catch more bees with honey than with vinegar. People get hurt if the trolls on here make it their MISSION to make people feel bad about their work. Then the trolls turn it around on them saying how they shouldn't be here if they can't handle CC's, or if they defend themselves. I'm not saying people should sugar coat CC's or anything, but for example... BIG MIKE is AMAZING and knows soo much. He tells it like it is without being an asshole....

Suck it up. Im SURE youve been called much worse than a "troll'

I am talking about how it's OK for you to behave the same way as the people you are calling out.

I own my behaviour.

Now you need to own up to the fact that you are no better, no matter what your "justification."
