People & images from San Salvador

I just got back from a 9 day trip in San Salvador. I went with a medical team delivering medicine and treatments (I'm not a doctor, just have a heart for these amazing people). It was this trip last year that inspired me to get back into photography (I had a SLR in Art School), and purchase my D5000.

The amount of opportunities for capturing images was almost overwhelming. I had trouble putting my camera down. I bought a Sigma 18-200 for the trip, but it was not fast enough for what I wanted to do, so I went to my trusty 35mm 1.8.

Here are some of the photos I took, I'd love to hear what you think, what's good, and what can be improved upon next time.

Thanks for looking, I know this is a lot of pictures, but it was hard to choose only a few from the over 1800 I took.

I love these, especially the portraits of the older people.

I think you could edit these to give them a bit more punch. I like older faces because there is so much detail in their skin.. I think you could show a lot more though with some burning and dodging and a high pass sharpening. I did just that, what do you think?

reznap, I like the edit, maybe a bit much for me but, you've inspired me to tweak these and get some more from them. I just got back and was excited to share with you all.
