Pic #2: Since she parts her hair on the right side, I would be tempted to place the main light on that side, camera left. This will help to alleviate the shadow on her forehead caused by the raised hair.

Pic #3: Be mindful of how she is posed like this. Having the thigh cut a horizontal line across the frame will make it appear larger than it is.

#3 Noted. Her thighs are not as big as they appear in that pic. It's a bad thing, but she is a tiny person, so it's quite deceiving. Good call on that.

Sure.. if you want to go with the softbox (nothing wrong with a good softbox!).. that is a rocking deal! However.. if you are going to work with a single light, sometimes a larger modifier is easier to work with. I actually like this even better (especially for full body shots), but many people complain that is it TOO big! lol! Photek SL6000 Softliter 60in Diffused Umbrella SL6000 (I actually have one 90" parabolic umbrella... and love it!)

Not so much that I wanted to replace with softbox, just thought it would be cool to have one on hand as well to learn with. I do like that larger umbrella. Sucks that its a hundred bucks. It's on my list though...thanks for advising on it.

I will say that a 24" softbox will be better than your 36" umbrellas for most things. I like Umbrellas... but I do prefer parabolics, as they give you more control and waste less light.
