We cut down all of our roses this Spring because of rose rosette. One of them managed to fight back and send up a new stalk. We left it and so far it seems disease free. So I got out the camera to take it's picture.

This is a double win ... a win-win, one for the photo and another win for the rose. You better baby that rose ...

Fingers crossed for now but honestly rose rosette is all through the area so unless this one is somehow resistant the virus should manifest by next year and I'll have to get the choppers out. Glad you liked the photo -- I always get a kick out of photographing red roses through a red filter. Too bad about TPF's white background -- looks a lot better on a grey background.

Wow. I wondered what color it actually was. Very nicely done.

Thanks. Red and green are complements so a red filter will lighten red and at the same time darken green. Your typical red rose and green leaves will convert to nearly the same shade of grey in a straight B&W conversion -- a red filter really separates them nicely.
