Umm... the D70 perhaps? Unless you already have Canon lenses, then go with the DRebel.

Well, I meant, as opposed to the Canon 10DS or something else.

i would definitly buy a D70 or 10D over the digital rebel. the digital rebel, in my opinion lacks, a few things that are very important. you can choose the af mode or metering it is dependant on the mode you are in, also it doesnt have spot metering. for the extra $100 id get the D70...if you already have cannon lenses and are serious about it get a 10D.
