Photo Montage / Slideshow Software

[Aquaforester]

Hi, new to the forum so please excuse this 1st post I'm sure it's somewhere. Can anyone recommend a good photo slideshow software. I need to create one for a friend and have a played on a computer at an affair. One that I can download free or has a minimal charge. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean like a power point? Microsoft office has software called power point - which costs money. Alternative is Open Office, which is free. I think Open office's version of Power Point is called Impress/Impression, or somehting simuler to that.

Animoto has a pay by slideshow option I believe.

OK thanks, sorry maybe I didn't explain myself I want to create a slide show that looks professional for a party. I'll check out Animoto in the meantime.

You might check out some of these, most are reasonably priced.

Personally, I like Photo to Movie because it can practically do the slideshow for you, or you can take complete control over the slides, themes, transitions, and soundtrack.

I have reviewed 3 slideshow software programs -- two are free and the one I mentioned above. The reviews are a year old and improvements have been made in the software since then.

Animoto is the general choice of the pros... Although I found that if you are going to use it on a regular basis I like Photodex's ProShow Gold. Animoto can get expensive with purchasing extras and if you are using it a LOT

If you are using Windows 7 & need something basic, you could always use windows dvd maker
