Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
So I was going to a cookout at a friends house and didn't want to mess with the D7k so I grabbed the ol' Kodak and headed out. Didn't get any worthwhile photos of the cookout itself but I did see a pretty orange blossom and took a few.

Photos look a little soft, was having trouble with the manual focus but they aren't too bad for an old P&S.

No thoughts? Between my difficulty with the manual focus and the fact that I cropped them defenitly ruined the sharpness and I could have made the DoF a bit more shallow so the background was a little less intrusive...

I'm not really sure what you want anyone to say past this? They're OOF shots of a flower. ::shrugs::

Are the angles pleasing? Do the colors look ok? Is the framing ok? Do you find the unopened bud distracting? Anything issues besides the fact that it's OOF that could be improved about the shots.

I don't like the angle of the first one. It's too much of a profile for a flower, in my opinion. Well for THAT flower, anyway. It's a busy flower... it just looks messy shot that way.

The colors look flat to me. They also seem like they're lacking in contrast.
Is the framing ok?
I'm not a fan of the proportions you chose to crop them down to, no.
Do you find the unopened bud distracting?
Yes.

no. Actually yes. A smaller DOF.

Just reshoot. :) :sexywink:

Of course this is my non-nature photographer opinion... maybe someone who spends more time with flowers will think otherwise.

Cool, so pay more attention to my histogram, narrow my DoF and learn how to focus.:D

Thanks for the help.

Haha, you're welcome.

It's a learning processes! Keep shooting, you'll get it. :sexywink:
