Photo to Oil Painting

Today I ran across this scene next to a city park.
After looking at it I think it's one of those candidates that could do well with the "Oil Painting" conversion.
The 2 photos difference is the exposure length - the water being chunky vs smooth.

How well does it convert and which is the best ... if at all :scratch:

I do see a difference, but it isn't enough. The white balance looks to be off by quite a bit.

The "Smooth water conversion" is making the boy look very blurry...
(It looks like it has introduced some faux camera shake as well.)

I opened it in LR and gave it a slam-bang. Minus purple, a blue adjustment, a green adjustment, a tiny black point tweak. Maybe too color-accurate? I dunno, it's your painting..is this too "literal"?



I wanted the woods behind him to be a bit darker, hence the black point tweak.

Well, might just be me but I think what this really needs is a giant hamster.

It's actually *not* a boy. But a "doll" on a small fake pier. To the left is a small lighthouse too but this lawnmower guy was purposely getting in my way. He shot over from about 75 yards away and kept rotating in and around the way. When I walked back to the car to put an ND on he left, but when I walked back ... back he came.

Took WB to 4700 from 4550

... and hope Robbins doesn't come back with a variant with a giant blue hamster in it.

Yeah, I see the blurry now.
I didn't use a remote release .. just my finger. Lawnmower guy had me irritated.

Ah - I thought these were all different edits of the same original. If they're not, it probably is 'real' camera shake, lol.

original PLUS the oil painting conversion

then a ND 1.8 PLUS oil painting conversion.

So it's probably camera shake.
I had no choice but to take a quick shot. LMG then sat around and did circles around the back of the pier .. luckily I got some shots off, then left as he got back there.

I generally enjoy the fast shutter speed on myself than the longer exposure.
