I find the entire subject way too centred, i.e. photographer and camera plus sun. I'd crop this one quite a bit, actually, also from to and left.

I like the photo in first post. Seems more balanced to me.
If I were to crop it, I would remove 2 cm on the left keeping the space on the right of the photographer.

It would be easy to you to remove the grain.
A little bit more of saturation would also be welcome .

Actinometro is right, removing the noise is easy on this, and the extra saturation definitely helps too. Lovely image in the first place, I think...
