Hi. Looking for some recommended tutorials or tips on photographing the Milky Way. One of my photo groups has a planned Milky Way shoot that I am thinking of joining. There will be a few experienced night sky shooters there willing to help out but I'd like to have a bit of a clue what I'm doing. Looking to do a little research first and maybe a practice shoot locally. I have no idea how to get started. I've done very little night shooting other than some city nightscapes. The planned location involves a long drive for me so I want to make sure I have the right equipment with me and know how to use it. All advice/tips/inspirational photos (if you include equipment and settings) are welcome in this thread. I'll be using my xt2 with either 14mm f/2.8 or 35mm f/2 (assuming wide angle is preferred?).
