Where is my sun glasses??

My advice is .... In general, photography and business are 2 different animals. You do not need to know about Photography to run a photography business, but you need to know about business to run a successful photography business. :D

First tip in busuness... Don't drive away your customers by making them not want to read/view what you have to say.

Keep your text "normal" size and a color that is simple and easy to read... Just my initial thoughts.

First tip would be to never again use a over sized blue font under any circumstance.

Both coments well taken. I totally agree and seperting photography and business! That is the problem I am having! I have been a photographer for about 10years but know nothing about running a business. I have ahad costumer service jobs but nothing high up!

Do you have a local Small Business Association? They can be quite helpful, and some have mentor programs.

I thought it is best to stand out and be different than everyone else.

My favorite color is blue and that is the theme I am going for with my business since blue represents loyalty and is soothing. Something easy to look at! I get it though a little too bold here just messing around since its my first time!

I am talking to someone with SCORE but he doesn't seem to be too helpful! I have also been actively looking for a photography mentor in my area but nothing has come through. I am really looking for feed back on my blog and what people think about that!

Well... maybe in advertising or a sig or something.... But I for one find it simply annoying in a forum. I didn't even read the OP...

PS - By "normal size" I meant smaller. Not necessarily to conform with everyone else...

go ahead, what cha got! everyone has an opinion doesn't always mean it's right!

A lot of pics on your blog are underexposed and/or have white balance, focus issues. Learn about the theories of compposition.
You need to become really good at what you do, and deliver consistant results before you hang your shingle.

You have a long way to go before starting a business. I'm picking up some big problems, most predominetly with lighting. I wish I had a better word for it, but your lighting is poor.

This picture for example.... Not really sure what to say about this....

or this.....

Such poor lighting here that there is a TON of motion blur in the baby's hand

I am also seeing some pretty big problems with general composition....

This picture for example....

There is a cheerleader jumping out of his head, and a leg coming out of her ass. Let alone, the mural is poorly cropped, a cheerleader is cut in half and the football player's head is cut off.

And here...

The whole grave marker isn't in the frame....

Practice, practice, practice. Take more chances, read more books, and never stop learning!
