WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD ANY MUCH NEEDED HELP/ADVICE ABOUT DOING MY OWN SHOW. I HAVE BEEN TAKING PICTURES SINCE I WAS 14, SO 10 YEARS NOW AND REALLY WANT TO HAVE MY OWN SHOW. I DIDN'T KNOW IF ANYONE HAD TIME TO EXCHANGE A FEW EMAILS WITH ME ABOUT SOME QUESTIONS I HAVE

-HOW MANY PRINTS SHOULD I HAVE
-HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I PLAN THIS
-ALSO, ANYONE IN CHICAGO KNOWS ANY COOL PLACES I COULD HAVE TI, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Why don't you find a gallery that is interested in your work first.

Go to local galleries first and find out what their guidelines are for submissions. How many prints you can hang will be determined by how large your frames are and how much wall space the gallery allots you. Some places you will get four walls to yourself and some places, you will be sharing with a number of other artists. Before you start planning, you should find a gallery to accept your work first. Galleries tend to schedule their shows months or years in advance. Another venue you can look into is bookstores and coffee shops.
