I like the background color in number 1, but the crop looks awkward and harsh to me. I'd rather see the whole tree if possible, or some other subject that looks less harsh.
Number 2 appears to have the white balance off to me. The lights look a bit too yellow for my taste. It could just be my phone screen though, as I'm viewing in mobile.

I agree with everything that JBes97 said. Take my comments with a grain of salt as I'm pretty new to this.

I would take a few steps back to show more of the tree/landscape. If there had been a bird, or some other specific object of interest, I could see taking the shot that close.
Also, and this is my personal preference, I prefer the sky to be in focus on a pic like this-- if you intent is to show a silhouette against the sky. Maybe lower the aperature a bit.

The biggest issue I see with this pic is that it looks out of focus/blurry. White balance could use a little correction.
