What's new

Photos I took, need opinions.

Snapshot photography is my guess...who knows, maybe Point & Shoot Academy is enrolling? Lots of career options there...
Was that necessary? Almost got through a whole noob thread with really good advice and critisms and no just plain condescending comments. Oh well.Remember, criticism and condescending are two different definitions.
I apologize, I didn't intend it to be read as condescending, but obviously our definitions of humor don't match up. I was just pointing out what others had said already, that the photos had the appearance of snapshots (the kind overbearingly taken with point and shoots mind you) and elaborating on a point that MLeek stated as well, that there was "...nothing there of a professional level or even entry level professional." I didn't intend for it to be read into so much.
Wow!!! I apologize lol! You gave me a real answer instead of the usual " you're too dumb and naive to know why we have to react this way" ! Sorry I did misread what you meant!

You said it... I didn't! lol! <pphhtttt!>

I think the straight to the point comments weed out the weak and keep the passionate motivated ones.

So what if these are point and shoot shots. Maybe they'll go out and do some real shots for us on the next post.

Pictures by kristennicole17 - Photobucket I took these and want to start a career, I need you to catergorize these photos, and tell me which ons are the best that stick and that are perfect. Pretty much ones that would make you hire a new photographer.

After looking though your shots, I agree with much of the above comments. They look like a beginners shots and lack any professional characteristics. I think someone said it best that they look like shot from someone who just got a new camera and want something to shoot. The images lack control of depth of field, a very flat and lacking contrast, the point of view is almost all from the standing eye level view, backgrounds are not well controlled, and composition is just not there. They are not the wost pictures I have ever seen from someone in your shoes, but you do need a good amount of work. My advice would be to keep shooting and learn your camera, also work on learning the basics of photography such as composition, lighting. Most of all read read read, and look at photos posted on here for C&C and see what the more experienced people comment and go back and look at the pictures. You can learn a lot from other peoples mistakes. But don't just read the ones in the beginners forum because often it just says "Nice Shot!!!" and gives no guidance on making a picture better.

Honestly, none would encourage me to hire you as a new professional photographer. As others has said, the vast majority are nice run of the mill snapshots, some better then others, some not so good. Why do you feel that the quality of your present work is at the level of a professional? Which pictures do you feel best represents your talents? And what areas of specialization do you feel you can produce professional results in?

He'll never find that post. lol
I think I was involved in that too.
That was right after that time you told me to shut up lolol
