There is this historic village not far from my house. I remember going there on a school trip years ago, but in recent years its been closed most of the time as they ran out of money to keep it open full-time. I was searching for new locations online and the name of this village popped up and turns out they are open more frequently then I originally thought. So, I knew I had to go there before it closed for the winter. I wanted to test out the light (they are not open early morning or late afternoon so I knew the light might be an issue). So a friend/co-worker volunteered to go with me and be my "model" for the afternoon. The sun was super intense in the afternoon so at least now I know that when I use this place again I'll have to schedule morning sessions.

I absolutely love this old house! I think it would be perfect for childrens Halloween portraits.

I like 'em! The last one is my favorite because it's simpler than the previous shot and it suits the subject. The first one is my least favorite because her pretty face is in shadow and there's a big, bright, white (slightly tilted?) house behind her with a fairly deep depth of field. I don't really like having a lot of house in the shot. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but the 4th shot looks soft/desaturated/slightly missed focus? I'm a weirdo about mergers, and in the last two shots it looks like she has a tree coming out of her head, a problem you don't have in the previous shots. As an aside: what a great smile!

P.S. Can you number them for us?
