Photoshop vs Lightroom

Photoshop is a full blown image editor that cost losts of $$$
Lightroom is an Image management system that allows non destructive editing that cost $129
Apples & Oranges
"So if you had a huge amount of photos to edit, basic stuff that is, would you do it on LR?"
I can't imagine basic editing a huge amount of photos in Photoshop, it's overkill and would take a huge amount of time and $$$$
Lightroom on the other hand would be perfect!

I use Lightroom for the majority of my editing but, there are certain tasks I do in CS 6 because I like it better or lightroom doesn't do it as well. Cloning, skin softening etc.
