Very nice shot, but the pink enhancement on her cheek is a bit much.

Serious colour issues; destaturated face, over-saturated pink cheek, red right arm... her chest area has a decided green cast as well. Lots of potential here, I'd suggest starting over from square one in post. The exposure is fine, it just needs a much more subtle colour adjustment.

I think you'll have trouble with the pink, I know its not what you put in its reflected from the ball, I don't however see any green and I've just calibrated, personally I'd have left the image either full colour or full mono as the selective col imo has emphasized the pink issues, I like the shot though and she looks a cutie. H

i didn't add any color to this, i just removed everything but red and blue...which allowed the pink ball stand out so much. Next time i'll pull the red out a little bit. Admittedly, this picture was edited when i was first learning photoshop and I was trying to be artistic with it. But with this advice, I know how I can make it a little better.

The way the pink is reflected on her skin almost makes it look like she has some kind of condition. If you wanted to isolate the pink of the ball, you might try selective desaturation on her.

Totally. I didn't do it on this edit, because I had just installed Adobe Photoshop and was learning at the time. Still am, but this was about all i knew how to do.

she's half-brazilian, so she actually has naturally semi-dark skin. the discoloration i put in actually hid that, however, the more i get criticism on it, i actually am looking at it objectively.

parent's bias, i guess..


if i do it again, what I'll probably do is selectively saturate and desaturate, yet try to emphasize her actual skin tone a bit...because she's got a nice natural tone that she gets from her mother.

I'd experiment with bumping the contrast up and desaturating down to 30-ish %.
