Picture Window Pro Software

I found an editing software written by a long-time software engineer. The software is named Picture Window Pro at Digital Light and color. Quick search on this forum did not provide info. Seems to be released at version 8.
Any users on this forum? Comments?

Seems to be no cost at this moment.

I used Picture Window back in the early 90s (?) as I tried to find an editor that I could afford. I don't remember much about it, except that it had a lot of unintuitive controls and a proprietary format that you had to convert to JPEG or TIFF with a third-party app. 30 years ago, Photoshop cost over $850, and was only available for a Mac, and I was just a working stiff, so I looked for anything I could get. I used it for a while, never got the hang of it, and ended up with a Corel program that was more like modern editors. Eventually, when Photoshop became available for Windows, I bit the bullet and got that. I didn't know that Picture Window was still around.

I just downloaded WP8 and fooled around with it a little. It opens Nikon nef files and is non destructive. Not bad for a free one.

I think I've heard of it but never actually got to try it out. I did now though and it turned out to be packed with editing tools much better than I expected. Really good for a free software, reminds me of Photodiva a bit. Thanks for the heads up!

Another I've heard of it, but used Corel for years. Now on LRC, I have no real need for photoshop.
